Cultivate, identify and differentiate Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasms hominis with this selective, ready-to-use medium
Cultivate, identify and differentiate Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasms hominis with InMicro® Prepared: Selective A-8 Agar. This selective and differential medium utilises the ability of Ureaplasma urealyticum to hydrolyze urea with the production of ammonia and resultant alkalinity. Manganous sulphate is added as an indicator. The ammonia produced during urea hydrolysis results in precipitation of a metallic oxide reaction product within and on the surface of Ureaplasma colonies.
Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum can be isolated with considerable frequency from the human urogenital tract and are thought to cause various syndromes such as nongonococcal urethritis, pelvic inflammatory disease, pyelonephritis or infertility.
Use Selective A-8 Agar for cultivation, identification, and differentiation of Ureaplasma urealyticum and Mycoplasms hominis.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
