InMicro® Prepared MacConkey Agar with 1μg/mL Ciprofloxacin combines the benefits of a selective and differential medium with antibiotic selection. This medium is specifically designed to isolate and identify ciprofloxacin-resistant Gram-negative bacteria, including Enterobacteriaceae.
The presence of lactose allows differentiation of fermenters (pink colonies) from non-fermenters (colorless colonies). Ciprofloxacin selectively inhibits susceptible bacteria, making this medium valuable for antimicrobial resistance studies in clinical and environmental microbiology.
