Detect coliforms in water, wastewater and foods using InMicro® Prepared: Lauryl Tryptose Broth (LST Broth).
Detect coliforms in water, wastewater, and foods using InMicro® Prepared: Lauryl Tryptose Broth (1X) with DT. Lauryl Tryptose Broth is recommended for the detection of coliforms in water, wastewater, and foods. The production of gas in Lauryl Tryptose Broth serves as a presumptive test for the presence of coliforms in water and foods.
Mallman and Darby developed Lauryl Tryptose Broth and they evaluated a variety of wetting agents and determined that addition of sodium lauryl sulfate to selective media produced the best results for the detection of the coliform group.
This medium contains casein peptone that supplies nitrogen, carbon, and sulfur required for the bacterial growth. Sodium chloride provides essential electrolytes and maintains osmotic equilibrium. Lactose is the carbohydrate source fermented by coliforms. Dipotassium phosphate and monopotassium phosphate present in the medium serve as buffering agents.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
