Differentiate Enterobacteriaceae from group D Streptococci using InMicro® Prepared: Heart Infusion Broth with 6.5% NaCl (with Brom Cresol Purple) (Salt Broth).
Differentiate Enterobacteriaceae from group D streptococci using InMicro® Prepared: HI Broth with 6.5% NaCl, BCP (5mL) (with Brom Cresol Purple) (Salt Broth). Facklam demonstrated that the differentiation of enterococci and nonenterococcal group D streptococci was more accurate on using Heart Infusion Broth with 6.5% NaCl Modified with Indicator in combination with bile and esculin agar.
This media differentiates Enterobacteriaceae from group D streptococci. Enterococci grow in the presence of 6.5% NaCl and utilize dextrose in the medium. This medium contains beef heart infusion and casein peptone that supply nitrogenous compounds and amino acids required for the growth of streptococci. Dextrose is an energy source. Bacterial growth is enhanced by yeast extract which supplies essential B vitamins.
Easy to interpret –Enterococci grow in the presence of 6.5% NaCl and utilize dextrose in the medium. The metabolism of dextrose produces acid, which causes the indicator, brom cresol purple, to change from purple to yellow.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
