Selectively isolate Haemophilus species from respiratory specimens with InMicro® Prepared: Haemophilus Isolation Agar with Bacitracin and Horse Blood. Haemophilus influenzae, a fastidious gram-negative bacillus, is a common cause of serious diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract.
Haemophilus Isolation Agar with Bacitracin and Horse Blood is a solid media recommended for use in qualitative procedures for selective isolation of Haemophilus spp. from respiratory specimens.
Beef heart Infusion and casein peptone supply the nutritional requirements for all but the fastidious bacteria. Horse sheep supplies both the X and V factors, which are growth requirements for certain organisms, such as Haemophilus influenzae. Horse blood also serves to distinguish the hemolytic species of Haemophilus from non-hemolytic Haemophilus species. Bacitracin inhibits normal flora found in respiratory cultures, particularly Neisseria spp.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
