Carry out selective isolation of Salmonella spp. (other than Salmonella Typhi) from food, dairy products, eggs, and feed with Brilliant Green Agar w/Sulfa.
- Selective: brilliant green dye acts as a selective agent inhibiting Gram-positive bacteria and most of the Gram-negative bacteria.
- Easy-to-read: Salmonella colonies range in colour from red to pink with a red zone. Sucrose and lactose fermenters that may occasionally grow appear as yellow to green colonies.
