Detect gram-negative microorganisms and perform sterility testing of cosmetics, topical drugs, and highly viscous substances such as salves and ointments using InMicro® Dehydrated: TAT Broth Base. TAT Broth is also referred to as Fluid Casein Digest-Soy Lecithin Polysorbate 20 Medium. In 1976, Brummer reported lecithin and polysorbate 20 effectively neutralized chemical disinfectant residues which inhibited the growth of viable microorganisms.
TAT Broth is prepared according to the formulation recommended by the Food and Drug Administration. TAT Broth is a non-inhibitory medium, used mainly for isolating contaminating bacteria in cosmetics, salves and creams.
Lecithin and polysorbate 20 effectively neutralize chemical disinfectant residues which inhibit the growth of viable microorganisms.
This medium contains casein peptone that provides a source of nitrogen, amino acids, and peptides necessary for bacterial growth. Lecithin and polysorbate 20 present in the medium serve to neutralize preservatives in topical drugs and cosmetics.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
