Rapidly isolate Streptococcus agalactiae and other streptococci involved in bovine mastitis with this selective medium.
Rapidly isolate Streptococcus agalactiae and other streptococci involved in bovine mastitis with selective InMicro® Dehydrated: Modified Edwards Medium. Aesculin in the medium differentiates the negative Streptococcus agalactiae (blue colonies) from aesculin-positive Group D streptococci (black colonies). Crystal violet and thallus sulphate serve as the selective agents for the streptococci.
Streptococci are gram-positive facultatively anaerobic bacteria, which constitute normal commensal flora of mouth, skin, intestine and upper respiratory tract of humans. The Strep organisms that cause mastitis are commonly divided into Streptococcus agalactiae and Streps other than Streptococcus agalactiae. Streptococcus agalactiae is a major cause of subclinical mastitis in dairy cattle and a source of economic loss for the industry.
Use Modified Edwards Medium for rapid isolation of Streptococcus agalactiae and other streptococci involved in bovine mastitis.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
