Effectively carry out microbiological testing of cosmetics using InMicro® Dehydrated: Letheen Agar Modified. Weber and Black recommended the use of lecithin and polysorbate 80 to neutralize the antimicrobial action of quaternary ammonium compounds. Letheen Agar Modified is based on the formula in the Bacteriological Analytical Manual for use in the microbiological testing of cosmetics.

This medium contains casein peptone and beef extract which supply nutrients necessary for the growth of bacteria. Letheen agar modified contains additional casein peptone which supplies nitrogen for enhanced growth of microorganisms. Yeast extract provides B-complex vitamins. Sodium bisulfite neutralizes quaternary ammonium compounds. Lecithin and polysorbate 80 partially inactivate quaternary ammonium compounds, phenolic compounds, formalin, hexachlorophene and ethanol. Dextrose is a carbon source.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
