Selectively isolate and presumptively identify group D Streptococci and Enterococci using InMicro® Dehydrated: Bile Esculin Azide Agar.
Selectively isolate and presumptively identify group D Streptococci and Enterococci using InMicro® Dehydrated: Bile Esculin Azide Agar. Esculin agar containing 40% bile, correlated well with serologically confirmed group D streptococci as reported by Swan. Isenberg et al. modified the formulation by reducing the concentration of bile and adding the selective agent, sodium azide.
In the presence of bile, group D Streptococci and Enterococci hydrolyze esculin and form esculetin and dextrose. Ferric ammonium citrate supplies ferric ions which react with esculetin and form brown-black colonies on Bile Esculin Agar.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
