Overview

Cultivate fungi and bacteria which utilize sodium nitrate as the sole source of nitrogen with InMicro® Dehydrated: Modified Czapek Dox Agar. This solid defined medium is one of the most useful media for the general cultivation of fungi. In the Modified Czapek Dox Agar magnesium glycerophosphate and potassium sulphate replace the magnesium sulphate and potassium phosphate of the original. This modification prevents the precipitation of magnesium phosphate. The medium is also a highly satisfactory substrate for chlamydospore production by Candida albicans.

Use Modified Czapek Dox Agar for cultivation of fungi and bacteria which utilize sodium nitrate as the sole source of nitrogen. Modified Czapek Dox Agar has shown improved chlamydospore production as compared to the original formulation.
