Sabouraud Dextrose Agar is a modification of the original medium developed by Sabouraud in 1892. Cultivate pathogenic yeast and fungi from clinical specimens with Sabouraud Dextrose Broth 2%.
This medium contains casein and meat peptones nitrogenous compounds and amino acids necessary for the growth of yeasts and fungi. Dextrose is an energy source that supports the growth of fungi. The low pH of the medium is favorable to the growth of fungi, especially dermatophytes, while also inhibiting contaminating bacteria in clinical specimens.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
