Isolate and cultivate Mycobacterium species with this selective, ready-to-use medium.
Isolate and cultivate Mycobacterium species with InMicro® Prepared: Middlebrook 7H11 Agar. Middlebrook 7H11 Agar is a modification of 7H9 and 7H10 media by Middlebrook. Casein hydrolysate was incorporated into this modified medium to stimulate the growth of mycobacteria that would not otherwise grow on this medium. Malachite-green dye is incorporated as a selective agent which inhibits bacteria other than mycobacteria.
Mycobacteria are immobile, slow-growing, rod-shaped, gram-positive bacteria with high genomic content. The genus includes pathogens known to cause serious diseases in mammals, including tuberculosis and leprosy.
Use Middlebrook 7H11 Agar for the isolation and cultivation of Mycobacterium species.
Middlebrook 7H11 Agar contains inorganic salts which are essential for the growth of mycobacteria. Casein hydrolysate serves as a growth stimulant for drug-resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Glycerol is a source of carbon and energy. Sodium citrate is converted to citric acid, which holds inorganic cations in solution.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
