Perform motility testing in microorganisms using InMicro® Prepared: Motility Test Medium with TTC.
Demonstrate motility in microorganisms with InMicro® Prepared: Motility Test Medium with TTC. Motility Test Medium with TTC Indicator is a modification of the formulation of Tittsler and Sandholzer for the detection of motility in enteric gram-negative bacilli. When the results of motility determinations in hanging-drop preparations and semi-solid agar were compared, they observed a perfect correlation. Kelly and Fulton recommended the addition of a tetrazolium salt to enhance the macroscopic appearance of motile organisms in motility media.
Motility Test Medium with TTC Indicator is a semisolid media that is used to demonstrate motility in microorganisms. Agar provides a semisolid medium which allows macroscopic motility interpretations. TTC (2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride) allows visual enhancement of bacterial growth. Tetrazolium salt is colorless, but as the organism grows the dye is incorporated into bacterial cells and is reduced to an insoluble red pigment, formazan. This red color forms only in the area where bacteria is growing.
When TTC is added to the medium, red color develops in the area of bacterial growth.
Motility Test Medium with TTC Indicator contains gelatin peptone and beef extract that supply vitamins and nitrogenous compounds essential for bacterial growth. Sodium chloride provides essential electrolytes and maintains osmotic equilibrium. TTC Indicator aids visual enhancement of bacterial growth.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
