Isolate Burkholderia cepacia from respiratory secretions of patients with cystic fibrosis with these prepared plates.
Isolate Burkholderia cepacia from respiratory secretions of patients with cystic fibrosis with InMicro® Prepared: OFPBL Medium.
Burkholderia cepacia grows slowly and exhibit variable colony morphology on commonly used media for the culture of respiratory specimens. As a result, it is easily obscured by overgrowth with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, other respiratory pathogens, and /or commensal microbial flora. OFPBL (oxidative-fermentative polymyxin B-bacitracin-lactose) medium is a selective and differential medium for the isolation of B. cepacia complex from respiratory specimens of patients with CF.
Burkholderia cepacia is a motile aerobic oxidase positive Gram-negative bacillus commonly found in liquid reservoirs and moist environments. It is an important opportunistic pathogen and causes pulmonary infection among individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF).
OFPBL medium is a selective and differential medium for isolation of B. cepacia complex from respiratory specimens of patients with CF.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
