InMicro® Prepared: HE Agar (Hektoen Enteric Agar) is a selective and differential medium for isolating and differentiating enteric pathogens, such as Salmonella and Shigella species.
$120.00 – $1,145.00Price range: $120.00 through $1,145.00
InMicro® Prepared HE Agar (Hektoen Enteric Agar) is formulated for the isolation and
differentiation of enteric pathogens, including Salmonella and Shigella species, from clinical,
food, and environmental samples. The medium contains bile salts and dyes to inhibit
Gram-positive bacteria and non-enteric Gram-negative organisms, enhancing selectivity.
Lactose, sucrose, and salicin in the medium serve as fermentable carbohydrates, differentiating
organisms based on acid production. Bromothymol blue and acid fuchsin act as pH indicators,
allowing easy visualization of fermentation reactions. Hydrogen sulfide-producing organisms like
Salmonella form colonies with black centers, while Shigella typically forms green colonies. This
prepared medium is ideal for diagnostic laboratories performing stool cultures and foodborne
pathogen analysis.
Manufactured at a cGMP-compliant facility under the ISO 13485 standard, ensuring high-quality manufacturing standards, consistency, and reliability for both research and industrial settings.
